From Alice Wesson

Neighbors, have been talking with Schiffs office, the Supervisor’s office etc so I share what I have heard and what I can see from my driveway.

Neighbors like you all have been the best source of news and updates. The fire, in some locations, making its way down canyon walls into neighborhoods. Neighborhoods in La Crescenta are now facing fires in their backyards, there are some structures on fire in La Canada, and our friends in the Meadows are right on the edge of the flames if not impacted now.  This has been a turn for the worse in the last hour.

Another of the big issues that the firefighters are dealing with is keeping the fire away from Mt. Wilson…for obvious reasons that would be a disaster to our communications.

Because of the extreme difficulty of the terrain, the heat, the winds etc, you have many agencies and many fire depts. all working together to combat the fire on several fronts.

You can probably hear the drops going on.

The image I share is from my driveway. The Futermans across the street are watching the fire slowly make its way downhill.

As the USFS commander said this morning, the firefighters and USFS are looking for public support…and prayers.

Sussy Nemer of Mike Antonovich’s Office and William Sims of Adam Schiff’s office are trying to get as much info as possible out to us.  But frankly, we are the best source and in many ways this neighborhood is better prepared than most.
