Do you catch little visions of Altadena on TV every now and then? Like Ronnie’s Service Station in the Immonium AD commercial, or the Altadena Nursery in the Kia spot? You see the film crews here all the time. When and where have YOU seen Altadena on TV?

Good discussion-starter, Deb. I keep track of such things!
Lately, I’ve seen Ronnie’s Automotive sub as a 1970’s San Francisco service station in the show “Journeyman.” They also film episodes of “Ghost Whisperer” on Highland between Mendocino and Altadena Drive. And the Walshes and whoever Jason Priestly was on 90210 lived in houses on Altadena Drive.
The storybook-appearing house on the 1200 block of Calavaras has appeared in several places as a home for mythical creatures (it was Hillary Duff’s house in “Cinderella Story”) I one saw it totally tricked out with deep fake snow and a sled, obviously for some Christmas thing.
I’ve seen at least one scene on “Six Feet Under” filmed inside the Mountain View Mausoleum. And the band camp in one of the American Pie movies was filmed in Farnsworth Park.
Those are just off the top of my head!

Fair Oaks Burger (on Fair Oaks)
They started filming yesterday, April 17th. And of this morning, all the props and trailers were still there. They transformed it into some sort of ‘Pirate Burger’ theme. Not sure if this is for a movie or TV show.
And I have some information on Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007).
Eliot Middle School (Several bathroom and hallway shots were filmed there) and
Mountain View Cemetery (Was transformed as the Haddonfield cemetery).

… which reminds me that Eliot was used for a locker scene in “Apt Pupil.” Director Bryan Singer got in some controversy for his use of young male flesh in that scene — maybe better that he stick to X-Men and Superman!
I’m also remembering the late TV series “Threshold,” where the lead character’s house, supposedly in a Washington, DC, suburb, is actually on Maiden Lane. I recognized the gnarly-looking tree in the front yard, as it was a frequent target of my late dog(!). I found it rather exciting that Commander Data and Peter Dinklage, one of my favorites, were once trying to escape aliens on that front lawn …
And Mike White’s “Year of the Dog” had some driving scenes, I think around Alta Loma, that are identifiable. (A lot of the action takes place in the Pasadena Humane Society building.)

we live across from the mountain view cemetery and we see (and hear) filming going on all the time! and we have often recognize the cemetery in movies & TV. recently it was used in “the riches”, “in treatment”, and “curb your enthusiasm”. and as was mentioned, “six feet under” used to film there often. we’ve also seen it in a “no doubt” music video. it’s super cool when they suspend a bright fake moon high over the cemetery to emulate moon light in the evening.
“the riches” motor home was also shown speeding down mariposa street with webster’s office supply clearly in the shot.
it’s amazing how much they decked out “fair oaks burger” into “pirate burger”. a big pirate neon sign and all. it must be for a major film as i don’t think they’d spend so much on the facade if not.

Last year, TLC’s what not to wear chose our neighbour to be in it. This is probably not the same as its a reality TV show. They filmed on our street in Altadena.
